I had to do it

"For most of history, Anonymous was a woman." - Virginia Woolf (via oh-well, quote-book) (via wrists)

A lot of things happened, and, practically speaking, most of them did not happen to me. When I came home with my boxes and bruises and new uneven ear piercings it was the darkest part of the year so I stayed inside. That should’ve worked in a nicer world and I should’ve had weeks or months of quiet alone to take baths in failure and baby lotion and call my mother at work to request diet coke and magazines and red grapes. But I didn’t. I babysat the third day, I threw up at K-Mart, there were full booths at the friendlys by the park. It wasn’t a nicer world and I wasn’t a nicer girl and everyday I hoped that today would be the day I did not cry my mascara off. I sorted papers in an office at the community college two hours a day twice a week as a gesture of good faith. I made my fingers bleed while reading old facebook messages from boys who did not call anymore and listened to liz phair with pink gummy headphones I’d bought at a barnes and noble in boston back before…

Certainly, I’d been unhappier.

"I am not a woman. I am an inferno, I am a tempest. I am venom and fangs and claws. I am lightning and starlight, and I am hell in high heels." - (via 33113)

"Nothing can diminish
the sadness of the sun
that sets within me
at 5 pm in the same
way that your lips
lit up my bedroom
and put stars in my sky
at 2 in the morning."

"You can always tell when a woman is with the wrong man because she has so much to say about the fact that nothing’s happening. When women find the right person, on the other hand, they just… disappear for six months, then resurface, eyes shiny, and usually about six pounds heavier." - Caitlin Moran, How To Be A Woman  (via 33113)

dude are u fucking kidding me
"I like drinking coffee alone, and reading alone.
I like riding the bus alone, and walking home alone.
It gives me time to think, and set my mind free.
I like eating alone, and listening to music alone.
But when I see a mother with her child;
A girl with her lover;
Or a friend laughing with their best friend;
I realize that even though I like being alone
I don’t fancy being lonely."
